First Mission for SMRT!
 

 The inaugural mission for the SMRS.

On Jan 22nd, 22 SMRT members including our communications and logs section were activated at Homestead Air Reserve Base for our first SMRT activation. The plan was to turn over the repatriation mission to the feds on Monday, Jan 25th. TX-1 DMAT along with members of PHS and logs members from FL-6 took over as of 1900 hrs on Jan 25th.

Major General Frank J. Padilla is the Commander, 10th Air Force, Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas. His command includes all fighter, bomber, special operations.

Brigadier General William B. Binger is the Commander of the 482d Fighter Wing, Homestead Air Reserve Base, Florida. As Wing Commander, he is directly responsible for overall management of the installation, to include a squadron of 25 F16-C/D aircraft. His leadership span of control encompasses over 1,600 members, including more than 1,200 reservists, of which 260 are full-time reservists and 325 full-time civilians. Additionally, he oversees the seamless integration of 11 tenant units to include the Florida Air National Guard, US Customs and HQ Special Operations Command South.
